International Women’s Day provides us with another excuse to shout about the fairer sex. What better way to do so than to dive into the ‘role model’ archives of our brains and celebrate some of our favourite female creators.

Once we’d started digging, at least 263 names jumped out as suitable contenders but, so as not to keep you too long from making your own mark on the world today, we’ve limited our celebration to a party of five.

From new-kid-on-the-block, Karis Richards, whose illustrations of pop-culture icons will adorn her first greetings card range, which launches this Spring, to South-West-based long time collaborators and friends Hayley Maker and Becca Allen.
